Lois Johnson Englund-Soderberg, 78, of Jamestown, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 23, 2015, due to head injuries sustained in a fall.
She was born in Jamestown on January 25, 1937, a daughter of the late Leslie G. and Esther M. Johnson.
Lois graduated from Falconer High School in 1954, and then worked as a bank teller at Jamestown Savings Bank. She was a member of New Creation Assembly of God, formerly Calvary Assembly of God, for over 30 years, and loved to talk with people about her faith in Jesus Christ. She loved to walk as much as possible and had many friends at various restaurants around town. Lois will be remembered as a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a faithful and committed spouse who took care of her husband, Richard, during his recent illness.
Surviving are her sons: Jeffrey Englund of Jamestown and Scott Englund of Lynchburg, VA; four grandchildren: Ben (Joy)Englund, Shannon (Logan) Frentz, Jessie Englund and Tessa Englund; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, David R. (Beth) Johnson of Frewsburg. Also surviving are four step-children: Richard Allen Soderberg Jr. of Erie, PA, Anita (Jon) Kiener of Warren, PA, and Rev. Daniel (Karen) Soderberg and Michael (Debbie) Soderberg, all of Jamestown; as well as seven step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death on October 11, 2015 by her husband, Richard Allen Soderberg, with whom she was blessed to know and love for the past 30 years. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Mark Englund, and a brother, Daniel G. Johnson.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 27th in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. William Blair, Pastor of New Creation Assembly of God, will officiate. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
Friends will be received by the family for one hour prior to the service Tuesday in the funeral home.
