Obituary of Dolores E. Carr

Dolores E. Brostrom Carr, 87 of 56 Roland Road Jamestown, passed away Sunday October 25, 2015 in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center. She was born March 30, 1928 in Jamestown the daughter of the late J. Ewald and Elizabeth Barkstrom Brostrom. She was a graduate of Jamestown High School and prior to retirement was Cafeteria Manager at Bush School. Dolores was a member of Zion Covenant Church, Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, Allen Park Women's Club, Vikings, Thule Lodge, Norden Women's Club, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by her daughter, Betty Ann Anderson (John) of Erie, PA; two sons, John A. Carr (Donna) of Port Richey, FL; Mark D. Carr (Lynette) of Jamestown; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth Gotham (Chris) and Erika Keith (Brian) both of Erie, PA; Erin Lane (Nathan) of Brazil, IN; Carol Brock (Glenn) and Kristofor Carr (Sara) both of Terre Haute, IN; Nicole Hinderleider (Craig) of Jamestown; Danielle Rachuy (Adam) of Westland, MI; and Mathew Carr of Jamestown; 16 great grandchildren, Ethan and Emma Gotham, Kristina and Brianna Keith all of Erie, PA; Austin, Brayden, and Claire Lane all of Brazil, IN; Glenn, Ella, Drew, and Brett Brock; Andrew, Kamden, and Tanner Carr all of Terre Haute, IN; Caleb and Colton Rachuy both of Westland, MI. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allan D. Carr whom she married August 23, 1947 and who died July 26, 1978. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Steve Kilburn, associate pastor at Zion Covenant Church will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
