Obituary of Joseph A. DeAngelo

Joseph A. DeAngelo, Jr., 61, of Stow, NY formerly of Evelyn Dr., Jamestown, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015, in the Buffalo General Hospital, Buffalo, NY. Joseph was born March 15, 1954 in Jamestown, NY, the youngest child of Joseph A. and Mary Foti DeAngelo, Sr. He was a 1972 graduate of Jamestown High School and earned his Bachelor's Degree from the State University of New York at Fredonia and his Master's Degree from St. Bonaventure University. In previous years he was an accountant for the Cummins Engine Company, Monofrax Corporation and prior to his illness was Chief Financial Officer for the Affinity One Federal Credit Union. Joe was a true family man who was devoted to his wife and two daughters. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and one of his greatest joys was hunting with his father and close buddies. He loved to spend time running and he completed the Erie Marathon in 2012. He was an active member of the Jamestown YMCA, where they often called him the "Mayor" because he worked out there so much. Surviving are his wife and high school sweetheart, Toni Russo DeAngelo whom he married September 3, 1977, two daughters, Natalie (Shaun) Pinney of Boston, MA, Joanna DeAngelo of Hilton Head, SC, his loving granddaughter, Cecily Pinney and a brother, Salvatore (Marianna) DeAngelo of Long Island, NY. Joe's family would like to thank his many friends and family for their love and support, as well as the staff at WCA Hospital, Roswell Park Cancer Institute and Buffalo General Hospital for the dedicated care shown to Joe. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell Duffy, pastor will be celebrant. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 8:45 p.m. Thursday.
