Obituary of Richard E. Baus

Richard E. Baus, 70, of 1288 Orr Street, died Saturday November 21, 2015, in his home surrounded by family. A native of Buffalo, he was born February 4, 1945, a son of the late Edward and Mildred Haas Baus. He graduated from Buffalo State University with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He was a US Army veteran serving from 1966-69 during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement in 2010, he was employed by SKF as a Quality Engineer. His memberships include Zion Covenant Church, Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, Vikings and Chautauqua Lake Region Antique Automobile Club of America. Dick enjoyed the many hours spent with Chuck Sinatra and friends at the workshop. Surviving are his wife Kathryn Foley Baus, whom he married July 11, 1970; two sons Christopher Baus of Lake Tahoe, NV and Jeremy (Deborah) Baus of Raleigh, NC; three grandchildren Raji, Sena and Judah Baus all of Raleigh; a sister Carol (Frank) McMenamin of West Seneca, NY and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 12 a.m. Monday November 30, 2015, in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Rick Miller will officiate. Friends and family are invited to meet at the Landmark Restaurant at 1PM Monday following the service. Friends will be received from 1-4 p.m. Sunday and for one hour prior to the service Monday in the funeral home.
