Obituary of Bruce B. Arisman
Bruce B. Arisman, 79, of West Ellicott, passed away unexpectedly at 9:22 a.m. Thursday, December 3, 2015, in his home.
A lifelong area resident, he was born January 9, 1936 in Jamestown, NY a son of the late Walter and Helen Alexis Arisman.
Bruce was a graduate of Jamestown High School and served in the U.S. Navy and the Naval Reserves from 1953-1965.
He was employed for many years as a boat mechanic for L-S Aero Marine, Inc. He was one who could fix anything and was known as the "Boat God" to his many friends. In earlier years he had worked for Pepsi and was a milkman for the former Tri Meadow Dairy.
He was a member of the Sugar Grove AMVETS, the Celoron Moose Lodge and the Ira Lou Spring Post 149 American Legion. He was also a member of the Celoron Trap Club and the Busti Trap Club. He was a champion skeet shooter in New York and Pennsylvania and was also an avid deer hunter.
Surviving are his daughter, Debbie Arisman of Fluvanna, a brother, Marshall Arisman, a sister in law Dee Ito Arisman both of New York City and his companion of many years, Lauri Farren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his former wife Rita Lou Arisman who died in 2012.
Per Bruce's request, there will be no formal service or visitation observed. A celebration of life gathering will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 10, 2016, at the Ira Lou Spring Post 149 American Legion, 364 Fluvanna Ave. Jamestown.
Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd. Jamestown, NY 14701.
