Obituary of Gordon F. Borkman
Gordon F. Borkman, 95, of Orlando, FL, formerly of 132 Livingston Avenue, Jamestown, died Saturday December 26, 2015, in his home.
He was born March 19, 1920, in Jamestown, a son of the late Ernest and Anna Frederickson Borkman.
He was a 1939 graduate of Jamestown High School and was a WWII veteran of the US Army serving for four years.
Prior to his retirement in 1982, he was employed by Weber Knapp in the production department for 43 years.
While living in Jamestown he was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Viking Lodge, Moose Lodge, Ira Lou Spring Post #149 American Legion and John W. Tiffany Post #53 VFW. He also played in Old Timers Baseball.
Surviving is a son Michael (Valerie) Borkman of Orlando; three grandsons David (Sharon) Borkman of Jersey City, NJ, Steven (Mandy) Borkman and Kevin Borkman of Orlando, two great grandchildren Emily and Owen Borkman of Orlando, and a sister Doris Ahlgren of Jamestown.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife the former Helen Boss, whom he married October 23, 1949 and who died February 5, 2014; a son Donald Borkman; a brother Irvin Borkman and a sister Bernice Carlson.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will not be observed.
