Obituary of Richard J. Langham
Richard J. Langham, 84, of 2064 Hoag Road, Ashville, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled Nursing.
He was born in Jamestown on September 21, 1931, the son of the late Albert and Esther Jensen Langham.
Dick was a graduate of Chautauqua High School and attended the University of Buffalo. He also served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He was employed as an industrial x-ray technician by TRW/SKF for many years, retiring in 1991.
Dick enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and his dogs. Greatest of all was his love for his family.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joanne Blanchard Langham, whom he married June 28, 1957; three children, Ned, Anne (Steve) and Larry; and three granddaughters, Claire, Sarah and Grace.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Scofield.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced by the Lind Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ashville Free Library, 2200 N. Maple Ave., Ashville, NY 14710; or the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd., Jamestown, NY 14701.
