Obituary of James L. Conner

James L. Conner Jr., 76 of Falconer, passed away Friday January 15, 2016 in Warren Manor. He was born March 17, 1939 in Jamestown the son of the late James L. and Edith McConnell Conner Sr. He was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1962 to 1964. Prior to retirement, Jim was employed at MRC/SKF Bearings and previously worked at Bush Industries. He was a member of the Henry Mosher Post #638 American Legion of Falconer. He was a Ham Radio operator and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing the guitar. Surviving are his wife Barbara Lofecheck Conner whom he married June 3, 1967; a son James T. (Anna) Conner of Kennedy; a daughter, Pamela J. Conner of Falconer; two granddaughters, Andrea M. Conner and Madelyn M. Conner both of Kennedy; a brother, David (Nancy) Conner of Frewsburg; two sisters in law, Dolores Halberg of Virginia; Sofia Conner of Athens, Greece; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Conner; and three brothers in law, John Halberg, John Lofecheck, and Richard Lofecheck. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday January 20, 2016 in the Lind Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday January 19, 2016 in the funeral home. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
