Kate,
I was so saddened to hear about Carol's passing. Both she and Martin were joys to be around, so accomplished and intelligent. They added many delightful evenings to my life here in St. Augustine and brought light to all situations.
Sincerely,
Angela

We want to send our best thoughts and condolences to you, Kate, for the loss of your mom, and to Aaron for the loss of his grandmom. Though I only met her recently, I know Carol was a smart, kind, and lovely person. I wish I could have known her better! Love to you!

Several of my children had Carol in school at Cambridge High School. She and Martin lived on my street- 10th street in Cambridge. Martin gave me my first "break" as as Rachel in "Inherit The Wind" and was in his wonderful production of "1776" and helped with many costumes/sets in future shows. Of course I got to know and appreciate Carol during those years too. I dearly appreciated and was in awe of them both. God bless her, Martin, and family. Paula Mazur

I am sorry for your loss. The doctors McKay were two of the most influential people in my life, and I know that I would not be the woman I am today without them. They opened my world with a new language, conversation, books and music, movies, and the occasional trip out of southeastern Ohio. They showed me a world of art and gave me my first kiwi. They showed me how to change a tire, and I am pretty sure that the spring break trip to DC is part of the reason I live here today. The doctors McKay encouraged and guided me. They never let me slide, especially Doctora, but when I think of her, I remember her laugh. (Though, she wasn't laughing when we left the camper to play cards that night in DC. Boy, was she angry with us! In the morning, though, all was right with the world.) My condolences to you and yours.

I have many pleasant memories of get-togethers with Carol and Mart during their years in St. Augustine, Florida. We would talk about their experiences working on the Frank Lloyd Wright Buildings at Florida Southern College, about architecture in Buffalo and the Roycrofters, about Mart's work with the Romanza music group. They were some of the most delightful people I have known here, and I was always touched by the loving care that Mart gave Carol when she needed it. Rest in peace, old friends, and thanks for the inspiration you left behind!
