Obituary of Elaine C. Millard

Elaine C. Millard, 82, of 318 Maplecrest Ave. Lakewood, NY, passed away at 5:37 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2016, in W.C.A. Hospital. A lifelong area resident, she was born November 29, 1933 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Maurice and Lydia Freeman Cederquist. She was a 1951 graduate of Bemus Point High School where she was the Salutatorian of her class and was also very active in her class reunions. Before her retirement on July 27, 2005, she was the court clerk for the Town of Busti for 25 years. In previous years she had worked as a legal Secretary for the law offices of Lombardo and Pickard and also for Booty and Olson. She was an honorary member of the Chautauqua Lake Power Boat Club and a member of the Lakewood YMCA. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and "grannie" who loved reading, knitting, sewing, doing puzzles, working outdoors and spending time with her grandchildren. She and her late husband loved spending time boating on Chautauqua Lake. Surviving are three daughters, Diane (late David) Carr of Bowie, MD, Laurie (Barry) Bangson of Hixson, TN, Amy (Jim) Andrews of Lakewood, NY, 5 grandchildren, Christopher (Katie) Carr, Andrew Carr both of Bowie, MD, Michelle Bangson of Hixson, TN, Abbey Andrews, Kylee Andrews both of Lakewood, NY, two step-grandchildren, Barry Bangson of Rossville, GA, David (Jaime) Bangson of Smyrna, DE, five great grandchildren, Ethan Carr, Henry Carr, Addison Carr, Ian Bangson, Samantha Bangson and a sister, Janet Jaret of Gaithersburg, MD. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert A. Millard whom she married October 10, 1953 and who died October 2, 2002. The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel W. Cook, retired pastor of the Lakewood Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-5 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Lakewood Memorial Library, 12 W.
