Obituary of James Norris Bower

James Norris Bower, 55, of 15 Hammond St., died unexpectedly Thursday, February 11, 2016 at UPMC Hamot in Erie. Since 1983 he has been together with Joan Weatherley Bower, whom he later married. Jim was born October 15, 1960 in Jamestown, the son of Albert and Faith Barker Bower, and was a 1979 graduate of Falconer High School. He had been employed for several years by Jamestown Metal Products. Jim enjoyed spending time with his friends in his "man cave" and looked forward to watching football games and races. In addition to his wife, Joan, he is survived by his parents of Jamestown; four children: Talia Finch (Barry) of Jamestown, Abree Jones (Kyle) of Rochester, NY, Dana Bower of North Carolina and Todd Bower of Jamestown; and seven grandchildren: Collin, Xander, Soleil, Jaelyn, Cameron, Silas and Atlas. Also surviving is a sister, Deborah Bower Sundlove (Mike Fagan) of Canandaigua, NY, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Laura Antico. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald E. Ray will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Jim also leaves behind his beloved cat Penny (a/k/a Smokey).
