Obituary of Lars E. Wallin, Sr.
Lars-Erik Wallin, 77, of 519 Howard Avenue, died Sunday March 6, 2016, in Lockport, NY.
A native of Sveg, Sweden, he was born June 5, 1938, the son of the late Lars and Ingeborg Bjork Wallin.
He was educated in Sweden, served in the Swedish Army and the United Nations Emergency Force as a peacekeeper in the Gaza Strip. He moved to Jamestown in 1960.
Prior to his retirement he was employed by Dawson Metal Corporation as a sales engineer.
He was a member of Thule Lodge, Vikings and its Boat Club and the Norden Club.
Surviving are two children Lars (Carma) Wallin, Jr. of Houston, TX and Lisa (David) Cleveland of Lockport; six grandchildren Dr. L. Erik Wallin III of Birmingham, AL, Matthew Wallin of Houston, Sandra Cleveland of New York City, Stephen Wallin of Houston, Abigail Cleveland of Lockport and Magnus Cleveland of Lockport; a sister Kerstin (Lars-Ingvar Ytterbring) Wallin of Solna, Sweden and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Stenstrom Wallin, whom he married August 12, 1961 and who died December 12, 2014.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
