Obituary of James O. Miller

James O. Miller, 80, formerly of Hallock Street, Jamestown, passed away peacefully Friday, March 11, 2016, in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. He was born June 21, 1935 in Jamestown the son of the late Floyd L. and Elsie C. Peterson Miller. In early years he attended the Wilson Hollow School and was a 1953 graduate of Jamestown High School. Jim served in the Army National Guard and was employed by Art Metal Inc., Dahlstrom Mfg. Co., Jamestown Metal Corp., and Blackstone Business Enterprises in the Engineering Department, preparing routings and estimates. He attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Jamestown and Frewsburg for over 60 years, serving as treasurer, Sunday School teacher, Elder, and board member. In earlier years he attended the Betty Weakland Chapel. Jim enjoyed playing chess and golf and spending time in prayer and Bible reading. Jim was faithful in sharing his testimony of how the Lord healed him three times. He is survived by his wife Joanne E. Franzen Miller whom he married July 11, 1959; Two sons, Daniel E. Miller of Jamestown; Rev. Brian K. (Barbara) Miller of Wampum, PA; four grandchildren, Anthony (Rachel) Miller, Samantha (Eric) Berkenpas, Justin Olson, and Matthew Olson; a brother, Donald F. Miller; and a sister, Kathleen Murray. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Darlene J. Olson who died July 1, 2001. The funeral service will be held at 12 noon Monday March 14, 2016 in the Frewsburg Alliance Church. The Rev. Samuel Shreffler, Heritage Group Chaplin will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. today (March 13, 2016) in the Lind Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service in the church.
