Obituary of Ronald C. Popchoke

Ronald Charles Popchoke, 64, of Bemus Point, New York passed away from this life on March 22, 2016 in Cleveland, Ohio, after a brief but devastating illness. Ronald was born on April 13, 1951 in Hugo, Oklahoma to Odell and Juanita (Beavers) Popchoke. Ronald was a lifelong member of the Jackson Street Church of Christ in Hugo. He graduated from Hugo High School in 1969 at which point he went on to attend Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Ronald married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Marsha Fluellen on December 28, 1973. Ronald began his career with Alstom-G.E. in 1978 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and enjoyed a flourishing career with this company. As Senior Construction Manager, he oversaw the construction of power plants all over the United States. With an unparalleled work ethic and unwavering pride, Ronald always provided exceptional quality in his work and in the work of those that he managed. His work ethic could only be matched by the love that he had for his family. Ronald was a kind, generous and compassionate husband, father and friend. His memory will always be cherished by those that knew him. In addition to his wife, Marsha, Ronald is survived by a daughter Michelle (Travis) Wood and grandchildren, Tessa and Grady, all of Rochester, New York, and a daughter, Leslie Popchoke of Chicago, Illinois. He is also survived by nieces Lisa (Darren) Callahan and Jenny Popchoke, both of Atlanta, Georgia. Ronald leaves behind a host of other friends and relatives, most notably Bruce and Kim Usher of Atoka, Oklahoma and Milo Miles of Tyler, Texas. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary Popchoke. Friends will be received from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016 in the Lind Funeral Home. Services and burial will take place in Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Mary's Hospital of Michigan, 800 S. Washington Ave. Saginaw, Michigan 48601, where Ronald received excellent care during his illness.
