Obituary of Charlotte B. Shreve

It is with great shared sorrow that we announce our beautiful Mom, Grandma and friend, Charlotte Shreve, has gone to eternal rest and peace. Charlotte B. "Shrevie" Shreve, 94, formerly of 109 Maple St. in Jamestown, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled Nursing. She was born February 23, 1922 in St. Mary's, Pa., a daughter of the late William and Francis Neubert Donachy. In earlier years, Charlotte was employed by Johnny's Lunch and she retired in 1988 from WCA Hospital. Charlotte was ' Mom and Grandma' to a wonderful extended family and friends, all of whom will remember her beautiful life well lived. Surviving are three children: Janice (Greg) Harle, John Shreve and Mary (Harold) Phanco; fifteen grandchildren: Tammy Haskins, Crystal Todd, Thomas Phanco, Greg Harle, Jr., Lori Mann, Billy Joe Dewyea, Steven Dewyea, William Dewyea II, Heidi Cronin, Amber Dewyea, Joanna Marsh, Shawn Shreve, Katrina Shreve, Jason Phanco and Jessica Wilson; many great- and great-great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews. Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan W. Shreve whom she married in June 4, 1943 and who died in February 11, 1967; a daughter, Suzanne M. Dewyea and son-in-law, William Dewyea; an infant son, Donald Shreve; two brothers, Thomas and Jordan and three sisters, Bernice, Dorothy and Maryann. A Celebration of Charlotte's Life will be held at a later date to be announced by the Lind Funeral Home. Visitation will not be observed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd., Jamestown, NY 14701. Charlotte's family sends special thanks to the staff of Heritage Green for all of the love and care given to their Mom.
