Obituary of Susan S. Brewer

Susan S. Brewer, 76, of 141 Willow Avenue, formerly of 131 Sampson Street, died Sunday April 10, 2016, in St. Vincent Medical Center, Erie, PA. A lifelong Jamestown resident, she was born April 17, 1939, a daughter of the late Clarence and Ruth Lang Swanson. She was a 1957 graduate of Jamestown High School and later graduated from Jamestown Community College. She had been employed by Jamestown Public Schools as a bus driver. She earlier had worked for Lutheran Social Services as a certified nurse's aide for many years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Susan was an avid fan of many sports. Surviving are three sons Matt (Deborah) Swanson of Houston, TX, Alexander (Aleshia) Brewer of Ashville and Nathan (Tricia Shelley) Brewer with whom she made her home; five grandchildren Christopher and Daniel Swanson, Layla and Emma Brewer and Noah Shelley and two sisters Pat (Everett) Nelson of Jamestown and Cynthia (Dale) Carlson of Oneonta, NY. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Alexander Brewer who died January 22, 1984; a sister Sonya Swanson and a brother Ronald Swanson. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Friends will be received in Fellowship Hall of the church following the service.
