Obituary of Denise A. Snyder
Denise Snyder-Norberg, 53, of 35 Adams Street, died Tuesday April 12, 2016, in St. Vincent Medical Center.
A Jamestown resident all of her life, she was born June 26, 1962, a daughter of Claude "Jack" and Joan Boucher Morrison.
She was a 1980 graduate of Jamestown High School and later graduated from Jamestown Community College with a degree in Humanities. She also received a degree from Jamestown Community College School of Nursing.
Prior to her retirement she was employed by WCA Hospital working as senior staff registered nurse in the Emergency Department. She began her healthcare career at Jamestown General Hospital.
Denise's love of the arts began at a young age. After her years of performance were over she continued to support local school music groups. For many years she worked with the Jefferson Middle School color guard and volunteered for Jamestown High School's A Cappella Choir and Red Raider Marching Band. Through her dedication she was "Mom" to hundreds of students. She was also an accomplished painter and was a member of Chautauqua County Society of Artists.
Surviving is her mother of Jamestown; husband Christopher Norberg, whom she married August 27, 2005; four children Matthew (Traci) Snyder of Jamestown, Aaron (Joan) Snyder of Buffalo, Kerilynn Snyder of Buffalo and Jennifer Norberg of Jamestown; two sisters Diane (Todd) Marzalen of Erie and Pam (Dan) Johnson of Pittsfield, PA; nephews Collin, Erik, Adam and Bryant Marzalen; father-in-law Sven "Bud" Norberg of Jamestown; numerous beloved aunts, uncles and cousins and her puppies Ryoki and Bella.
She was preceded in death by her father in2014 and her mother-in-law Carole Norberg in 2015.
The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Deacon Daniel J. Tyler will officiate.
Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
