Obituary of Dorothy M. Cade

Dorothy M. Cade, of 4570 Route 60, Gerry, N.Y., passed away at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing. She was born July 16, 1930 in Alden, N.Y., a daughter of the late Noah and Sarah Lichti Boshart. Dorothy had been employed by the Kozak Corporation in Batavia, N.Y. A resident of Batavia for many years, she was a member of the Batavia Wesleyan Church and for the past several years belonged locally to Fluvanna Community Church. Dorothy was active in Gideon's International for more than 50 years with her late husband as a member of the Gideon's Auxiliary. Surviving are a daughter, Judy (Dan) DeHaven of Bemus Point, N.Y.; two sons: Larry (Beth Anne) Cade of North Java, N.Y. and Jerry (Elaine) Cade of Palmetto, Fla.; eight grandchildren: Benjamin (Essie) Cade of Liberty, S.C., Becky (Joe) Pipino of Parrish, Fla., Corey (Danielle) DeHaven of Raleigh, N.C., Shane (Aimee) DeHaven of Victor, N.Y., Dorian (Kristen) DeHaven of Painesville, Ohio, Joshua (Samantha) Cade of Sheldon, N.Y., Noah (Carrie) Cade of Bennington, N.Y., and Lorna-Jane (Joseph) Connelly of Tonawanda, N.Y.; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Arthur (Gail) Boshart of Seattle, Wash. and a sister, Marjorie (Morris) Wolfe of Houston, Tex.; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Roger Cade, whom she married June 10, 1950 and who died Sept. 7, 2015; two brothers, Howard and LaVerne Boshart; and a sister, Mildred Roth. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2016 in the Fluvanna Community Church. The Rev. Dayle F. Keefer will officiate. Inurnment will be in Hillside Cemetery in East Pembroke, N.Y. Friends will be received for two hours prior to the service, from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Friday in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fluvanna Community Church, 3363 Fluvanna Ave. Ext., Jamestown, N.Y. 14701; or to the Jamestown Gideon's, P.O. Box 3373, Jamestown, N.Y. 14702-3373.
