Obituary of James D. Bates

James D. Bates, 73, of Jamestown, passed away Saturday April 23, 2016 in his home. He was born July 29, 1942 in Warsaw, NY. In earlier years, he did janitorial work at various locations in the area. Surviving are his daughter Robyn Bates and his son Josh Bates, both of Jamestown. He was preceded in death by his mother, Viola Myrtle Siebert; and his wife, Judy Ann Bates whom he married February 14, 1986 and who died March 23, 2013. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
