Obituary of Melody E. Wells

Melody E. O'Neal Wells, 51, of 101 Hedges Street, died Sunday May 1, 2016, in WCA Hospital. She was born February 13, 1965, in Jamestown, a daughter of Fredrick Wilson and Norena Ladlee Arters. Surviving is a daughter Samara Wells of Jamestown; five grandchildren Aijon Scott, Avery O'Neal, Ahliyah Thorn, Jaden Nixon and Josh Jr. Nixon all of Jamestown; her soul mate of many years Sam O'Neal; four sisters Jodi Howell of Indian River, NC, Paula (Paul) Burger of Jamestown, Nancy (Bill) Creasman of Houston, TX and Cindy (Kevin) Wilson Marucci of Celoron; four brothers James (Leisa) Lee of Elizabeth City, NC, and Robert, Michael and Scott Wilson all of Celoron; grandfather Norman Kilby of Jamestown; former step father James (Mary) Lee who helped raise her; a special aunt Linda Morton who was like a second mother to her and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparent Wilma Kilby, Florence and Myles Wilson and Charles and Norma Lee. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
