Obituary of R. Christine Brant

R. Christine Brant, 96, of 71 Willow Ave., passed away Saturday May 7, 2016 in St. Vincent Hospital, Erie, PA. An area resident most of her life, she was born October 7, 1919 in Yatesboro, PA the daughter of the late Axel E. and Roberta Pomroy Johnson. She was a 1938 graduate with honors from Jamestown High School. Christine worked at Jamestown Metal, Jamestown Mutual Insurance, and was a Senior Account Clerk with the Jamestown BPU from 1939 until 1956. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Falconer, serving as a Deaconess for many years. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and the Rebekah Lodge. Christine and her late husband Lawrence enjoyed traveling, especially on bus trips. Surviving are two nieces, Sandy Waid and Roberta Hess both of Jamestown; two great nieces, Jennifer Anderson of Phoenix, AZ; and Ashley Klinginsmith of Ashville, NY; and a great great nephew, Kye Klinginsmith. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence A. Brant whom she married June 3, 1944 and who died June 19, 2012; and a sister, Leota York. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday May 9, 2016 in the Lind Funeral Home. Gordon L. Robbins, pastor of First Baptist Church of Falconer will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service Monday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Falconer, 37 W.
