Obituary of Louise Overbeck

Louise Overbeck, 90, formerly of McDaniel Ave. and the Crane St. Apartments, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Heritage Park Rehab & Skilled Nursing. She was the widow of David W. Overbeck, whom she married in 1948 and who died February 14, 1989. Louise was born in Blockville, N.Y. on January 26, 1926, one of eight children of the late John and Belle Brink. She looked forward to playing Bingo, her many trips to the casino, and playing cards with her friends. She also enjoyed her years volunteering at the Lutheran Retirement Home. Louise is survived by four daughters: Gloria Dugan of Youngsville, Pa., and Sharon Lydell, Susan Gaylord and Diane (Dana) Scott, all of Jamestown; seven grandchildren: Sherri Carr, Kevin Cobb, Christopher Cobb, Josh Lydell, Jennifer Gaylord, Taylor Scott and Alex Scott; and nine great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her cat, Melody. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Charles, John and Albert Brink; four sisters: Lena Baldensperger, Martha Carlson, Betty Brink and Ethel Hofer; and an infant son, John Overbeck. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Donald and Sandra DeAngelo, pastor of Faith Outreach, will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
