Obituary of Lillian A. White

Lillian Adeline Westfall White, 91, of Frostproof, FL, formerly of Jamestown and Ellicottville, NY passed away Wednesday May 18, 2016 in Good Shepherd Hospice Sebring, FL. She was born in East Otto, NY the daughter of the late Elmer and Bertha Glow Westfall. Lillian graduated from Ellicottville High School and the Jamestown School of Practical Nursing. Prior to retirement, she was employed as a Practical Nurse at the former Jamestown General Hospital for 29 years. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of AARP; RSVP vacations; Good Sam's RV Club; the American Red Cross; Salvation Army; was chairman of Jamestown General Hospital Cookbook; and she was Den mother for pack 39 Cub Scouts at Love School. Following retirement, she volunteered at Jamestown General Hospital, Jones Hill. Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Herbert W. White of Frostproof, FL; two sons, Gary R. (Ruth) White of Greenbackville, VA; Donald R. White of Houston, TX; a sister, Ruth W. Strickland of Anna Maria Island, FL; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard Westfall and Richard Westfall; and two sisters, Grace W. Lincoln and Violet W. Frank. A gathering of family and friends will held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday May 24, 2016 in the Lind Funeral Home, immediately followed by a short graveside ceremony at Lake View Cemetery.
