Obituary of Melvin F. Jordan

Melvin F. Jordan, Jr., 67, of 40 Linwood Avenue, died Sunday May 29, 2016, in his home. He was born February 13, 1949, in Jamestown, a son of the late Melvin and Doris Foreman Jordan, Sr. He was a graduate of Randolph Central School. He served in the Army from 1969-71. He later worked with the Civil Air Patrol. Prior to his retirement he and his wife were employed by Covington in Tennessee as tandem team truck drivers. Surviving are five children Sherrie (Dale) Hicks of Rhode Island, Melissa Cardone, with whom he made his home, Michelle Evans, Angela (David) Evans and Curtis Saircloth all of North Carolina; twelve grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a brother Larry Jordan of Kennedy and a sister Connie(Eric) Thompson of Falconer. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife RoseMary Voss Jordan, whom he married October 24, 1989 and who died May 29, 2016; a son Steven Saircloth, a sister Kathy Jordan and a sister-in-law Karen Jordan. The family wishes to give special thanks to Fattah Rahim for all the help he's provided to Melvin and whom Melvin considered a son.
