Obituary of Larry I. Ackley

Larry I. Ackley, 81, of 2829 Mitchell Road, died Tuesday May 31, 2016, in his home. He was born February 4, 1935, in Wayland, NY, a son of the late Irving and Alice Thayer Ackley. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Tri County Dodge as sales manager. He earlier had worked for Howlett Cadillac and Shults Auto Group. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage with his tractor. Surviving are his wife the former Rosetta Zanardo, whom he married January 31, 1957; five children: Sindy Ackley of Jamestown, Craig (Heidi) Ackley of Wake Forest, NC, Brenda Ackley of Jamestown, Shirley Mosier of Niagara Falls and Juan Aries Castro of New Zealand; six grandchildren: Chad (Lisa) Van Guilder of Warren, PA, Brandi (Damon) Shields of Philadelphia, PA, Danielle (Greg) Ackley of Durham, NC, John Ackley of Minneapolis, MN, Esteban Arias of Costa Rica and Grettle Arias of Costa Rica; six great grandchildren, a brother Gordon (Flo) Ackley of Little Valley and a sister Doris Arnold of North Carolina. Also nieces and nephews . Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Donald and Burton Ackley and two sisters Shirley and Helen Ackley. No funeral service will be observed. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home.
