To the family of "Busty" Guiffrida:
Busty was a kind and wonderful man, willing to help anyone. We remembered when he came over every day to visit our former neighbor Mrs. Russo on Elam Avenue and we'd always talk to him. I (Lucy) remember him from my childhood as he was a good friend of my grandparents. I remember visiting his mother who they called "honey bunch of garlic". When my son (Andrew) was sick in the hospital a few years ago he would check in with me to see how he was doing. He will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Busty was one of my heroes at St. James Church. A person would only have to ask once and he would say yes and pitch in. He helped me with phone calling for a stewardship fund raising campaign for the church, ushered during Mass every Saturday night (looking very handsome in his blue usher suitcoat) and whole heartedly helped with set-up for the summer festival, showing up early in the morning at the tent, holding ladders and handing signs to men, initiating and volunteering for whatever else he could do. (with his energy and positive spirit,we didn't know he was then in his 80's!) He talked about his dear wife, his children and grandchildren who he was so proud of, and his love for the Jamestown Boys (and now Girls) Club of which he was one of the longest members. I regret I only met this kind, wonderful man in the 1990's through my past job working for the church. I am sure he contributed much more to the parish and community that I am not aware of. I am also sorry I never met his dear wife. Busty was an intelligent man with an interest in civic events. He would catch my husband Paul before Mass to discuss issues and concerns of the day. I remember when he told us he had turned 90. He couldn't believe his good fortune!. We will miss him so much. Our deepest sympathy to his friends and family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. To the family of Busty Guiffrida
I would like to send my condolences to the family of Busty Guiffrida. He was always nice to all of us kids on Lafayette st. when he would come by and visit Josephine, or his son Joe.He always had something positive to tell us and let us know when we were wrong also. I used to sit on the porch and visit with him and his wife and talk. Thanks for being kind to us Busty, you are in heaven and you will be missed by everyone that knew you!!!

Dear Jim Joe and family, our sincere sympathy to you and your beautiful family,s . Uncle Buster was one of the greatest uncles anyone could ask for. HE was a great inspiration to all who met him. Every time we talked to him he would never complain he was always positive and upbeat. He loved life and had a big heart. His love of his family was most important to him. He was always talking about his sons and their beautiful family's . Grandchildren and great children were very special as well. Always praising them and telling me about their accomplishments. He had a great life and enjoyed every minute of it. He will be greatly missed by all but especially by his family. We loved him more than you know and I felt like he was my last connection to my mom. I will miss his phone calls and his beautiful voice. Rest in peace my favorite uncle. Love to you all. Anna Marie.
