Obituary of Jannene L. Seekings

Jannene L. Seekings, 70, of 9 Logan Ave. Jamestown, passed away unexpectedly at 12:15 p.m. Thursday in her home. An area resident for most of her life, she was born January 21, 1946 in Elmira, NY a daughter of the late Clayton and Lois Hoyle Danielson. She was a 1965 graduate of Jamestown High School. Before retiring in 2015, she was employed by Tops Market, formerly Quality Markets, where she worked for 26 years. She loved working in the floral department and later was a cashier for several years. In previous years she had worked for W & B Swanson Pharmacy and for Eckerd Drug Store. She will be remembered as one who loved to cook, bake and tend to her flowers. She also loved her cats, Chelsea and Missea. Surviving are her husband, Delbert "Del" Seekings whom she married July 16, 1966, a daughter, Tiffany (J. Kirk) Decker, a son, Ryan (Marcie VanDorn) Seekings all of Jamestown, two grandchildren, Jason (Tammy) Decker of Jamestown, Shannon (Jim Miller) Decker of Sugar Grove, PA , several great grandchildren, a sister, Mary (Dave) Ford of Jamestown, a brother, Dale (Judy) Danielson of Springfield, MO, as well as several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2016, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald E. Ray will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. (two hours prior to the service) on Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd.
