Obituary of Jean L. Rinaldo

Jean L. Rinaldo, 89, of Front Street and Chautauqua Lake, died Saturday July 9, 2016, in WCA Hospital. A lifelong area resident, she was born March 1, 1927, in Busti, a daughter of the late John and Jennie Wigren Lawson. She was a 1944 graduate of Lakewood High School followed by 7 years of employment at Pennsylvania Gas Company. She was a longtime active member of Zion Covenant Church where she participated in Cradle Roll, Dorcus Society, Ladies Aid, Fellowship Guild and Covenant Women. She was also an accomplished quilter. Surviving are three children David (Mary) Rinaldo of Rochester, Carol (John) Sweeney of Brooklyn, NY and Janet (Robert) Foley of New Baltimore, NY; eight grandchildren Anne Sweeney, Clare (Tim Nugent) Sweeney, Jack Rinaldo, Evan Sweeney, Veronica Foley, Sam (Marjorie) Rinaldo, Bernadette Foley and Lenore Rinaldo and a great granddaughter. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Walter Rinaldo, whom she married in Zion Covenant Church June 23, 1951 and who died November 13, 2004; a brother Earl Lawson and a sister Myra Lindberg. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Zion Covenant Church. Rev. Rick Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
