Obituary of Merton L. James

Merton L. James, 88, of 6639 Moore Road, Mayville, died Wednesday July 20, 2016, in Warren Manor, Warren, PA. He was born November 28, 1927, in Ashville. a son of the late Bert and Bessie Reed James. He was a WWII veteran of the US Army. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and being outdoors. Prior to his retirement he worked construction for several area contractors and in earlier years he was in the logging business. Surviving are two sons David James (Jamestown) and Tim James (Ohio). Also surviving are grandsons Wesley James, Tim James and granddaughter Tessa Beckwith (Ben); nieces and nephews: Barbara Peterson (Ken), Debbie Moore (Tim), Dennis Carpenter (Phyllis), LaVern Carpenter (Kelly) and great-niece Stephanie Lackey with whom he kept close contact and was very fond of. He was also preceded in death by a son Christopher James and a sister Viola Carpenter (Jack). No funeral service or visitation will be observed.
