Obituary of Mary Joy Carlson

Mary Joy Carlson, 87, of Avalon Blvd WE, passed away Friday July 29, 2016 in UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, PA. She was born February 2, 1929 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Joseph G. Kettle and Eileen Samuelson. Mary Joy was a graduate of Jamestown High School class of 1946. Prior to retirement, she worked at TRW-MRC Bearings for 22 years. Earlier she was employed at City Hall in Jamestown and Gifford Drug Store. She was a member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club and a former member of Brooklyn Heights United Methodist Church. She is survived by her son, Ronald W. Carlson and her daughter in-law Luann K. Carlson, and her grandson, Michael J. Carlson all of Greenwood, IN. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard C. Kettle who died March 24, 1988. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel Nagle, pastor of First Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Wednesday in the funeral home.
