Obituary of Mary Ann Benson

Mary Ann Riley Benson, 87, of Hultquist Place, formerly of 47 Hickory Street and 140 Aldren Avenue, died Tuesday August 2, 2016, in WCA Hospital. A native of Jamestown, she was born December 14, 1928, a daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth Hiller Riley. She was a 1946 graduate of Jamestown High School and was a member of the 7th Grade Social Club. Surviving are three children Deborah Andersen of Bemus Point, Robert Benson of Jamestown and Thomas (Sue) Benson of Jamestown; seven grandchildren Amy (Keith) Mait, Megan Benson, Katie (Chris) Kozlowski, Kelley (Bernie) Auer, Candy (Chris) Frost, Tom Andersen and Robbie Benson and four great grandchildren Riley and Andrew Auer, Alex Mait and Logan Frost. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert H. Benson, whom she married March 30, 1947 and who died June 2, 2014 and three sisters Helen Peterson, Jane Colburn and Louise Riley. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Daniel S. Rumfelt will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-6 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
