Obituary of Dorothy Ruth Olson

Dorothy Ruth Bucklaew Olson, 95, of Orchard Grove, formerly of 510 Forest Ave. and 8 Crane St. passed away at 11:00 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2016, in W.C.A. Hospital. A lifelong area resident, she was born June 28, 1921 in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of the late Enoch J. and Agnes Weiss Bucklaew. Dorothy was a graduate of the former Celoron High School and was a communicant of the Holy Apostles Parish at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. She was a former member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Before her retirement she was employed by the former Art Metal Incorporated and by the former Hedberg's Bakery. Surviving is a son, David R. Olson of Falconer, NY, two sisters, Virginia Spetz of Jamestown, Marian Burrows of Calhoun, GA, as well as several nieces and nephews including Robert Bucklaew of Jamestown and Pat Sanders of Painesville, OH. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Olson whom she married August 7, 1948 and who died September 28, 1998, a daughter, Susan D. Olson, four sisters, Agnes Machovec, Alice Marie Bucklaew, Loretta Scolton, Catherine Penniwell and five brothers, Raymond, Francis, Robert, Bernard and Harold Bucklaew. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor of Holy Apostles Parish will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Thursday in the funeral home.
