My sincere condolences. Polly was a special lady. She taught me much, about 4-H leadership and the importance of home economics to our youth. I agree, she was a friend to many. A dear soul. Rest in Peace, Polly!

JESSICA, PETE AND ANDREW,
So sorry to hear this news. Your Mom was my mentor first then my friend always.
We had so much fun teaching together. We would get together in FL and talk non stop. She was a wonderful friend and how lucky you were to have her as your MOM. Rejoice in all your wonderful memories. She was first class!

To the Wood and Richards families. We would like to express our condolences to all the families. We have known Polly since the early days in Covington and at college in Mansfield. In the early years at Mansfield State College Helene was in the Home Economics with Polly and knew her before she met Bill. During college and after graduation we spent time with Skip and Polly and visited with them when they first moved to Jamestown. Then we went our off in different directions and only in the past few years we got together in Florida and had a nice time visiting and going to different events in the Punta Gorda area. All we can say is that we will miss Polly but her memories will be with us for the rest of our lives.

Jessica,
I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She was my first home economics teacher at Lincoln and inspired me to do the same. She was a wonderful person and we enjoyed so many home economics meetings at Jamestown Public Schools and at the county level once I received my degree. It was always great to see her at Sam's Club and catch up on news.
In addition, she was a friend to me, my family, and even my parents, when your dad and mine were involved in various sportsman clubs. I still have the tree in my yard she gave us for "babysitting" Whiskers when she traveled to Florida one year. I always laugh when I think of the significance of her giving us a Weeping Pussy Willow for taking care of her cat.
I hope your memories will carry you through this difficult time.

To the Wood Family,
We had the joy and pleasure of meeting with Polly in May 2016 while she was in Florida.
We picked her up at her home and had a wonderful lunch in Punta Gorda @ a restaurant called Harpoon Harry's located on the Peace River.
She very much enjoyed the day and the friendship provided by a former teaching associate.
Jessica, your mom was a great person and very classy lady. Each of the last 3 years we always made it a point to visit with her in Florida at her new residence. We enjoyed her company very much and she will be dearly missed.
Our sincere condolences, Lorraine & Carl Dossier....
