Obituary of Norma C. Pangborn

Norma C. Pangborn, 88, of 201 Jackson Ave. WE, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016 in WCA Hospital. She was the widow of Kenneth E. Pangborn who died in 2003. Norma was born August 3, 1928 in Youngstown, Pa., a daughter of the late Frank and Alice Nelson Langworthy. She had been the manager of Hot Sam's Pretzels in the Chautauqua Mall for many years, and later worked as a food demonstrator at the Lakewood Walmart. Norma enjoyed cooking for her family, especially for holidays, and loved her dogs. Surviving are two daughters, Marylee (Gilbert) Beardsley and Marilyn (Ellis) Delahoy, both of Lakewood, and a son, Allan C. (Rachel) Pangborn of Winterset, IA; seven grandchildren: Linda Ann Wilson of Woodruff, SC, Allan R. Pangborn of Fall Rivers, MA, David Delahoy of Jamestown, Karyl McDaniel of Lakewood, Alice Bigelow of Jamestown, Jennifer Geleta of Franklinville, NY and James Pangborn of Jamestown; and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth T. "Pete" Pangborn and an infant daughter, Marsha Pangborn; grandson, Kenneth Rasmussen; two brothers, Ted and Curt Langworthy; and a sister, Lorraine Hanson. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor John Bowen of the Magnolia United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
