Obituary of Virginia V. Spetz

Virginia V. Spetz, 90, of 124 Avalon Blvd. WE, passed away Thursday September 1, 2016 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born September 21, 1925 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Enoch J. and Agnes Weiss Bucklaew. A 1945 graduate of Celoron High School, she worked at Leed's Drug Store for many years. In her later years, she was an independent health care aide in the home health care field, and loved her patients. Virginia enjoyed watching and feeding the birds and enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills Games. She loved her Poodle, Buttons, her kitten, Punkin, and her German Shepherd, Matt. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lakewood; was a member of the Moose Lodge #87 Auxiliary; Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion Auxiliary; and former member of the AMVETS #1996 and the VFW. Virginia was a goodhearted, generous person and made sure her home was always meticulous both inside and out. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who thought the world of her kids. She will be missed by all. Surviving are three sons, Raymond A. (Barbara) Spetz Jr. of Melbourne, FL; Timothy M. (Donna) Spetz, and Douglas M. (Jody) Spetz, both of Jamestown; three grandsons, Darren Spetz and Trevor Spetz, both of Jamestown; Jake Spetz of Titusville, PA; seven great grandchildren, Kendra Spetz, Karli Lopez, Kayla Lopez, Kaden Lopez, Carter Spetz, Ryleigh Spetz, and Colton Spetz; a sister, Marian Burrows of Calhoun, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. She will be especially missed by her niece Valerie (Robert) McCray of Lady Lake, FL. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond A. Spetz Sr. whom she married March 5, 1946 and who died May 31, 1994; a great grandchild, Renee Spetz; five sisters, Agnes Machovec, Alice Marie Bucklaew, Loretta Scolton, Catherine Penniwell, and Dorothy Olson; and five brothers, Harold, Bernard, Robert, Francis, and Raymond Bucklaew. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Piotr Zaczynski, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church will officiate. Entombment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
