Obituary of Ellen M. DeRaat

Ellen M. DeRaat, 82, of Sherman, NY, died Saturday, September 3, 2016 in her home. She was born November 28, 1933 in Belleville, NJ, a daughter of the late Martin and Jessie Edmonds Kramarich. Her husband, Jacob P. DeRaat preceded her in death, whom she married November 3, 1968 and passed away April 27, 2012. Together they operated a farm in Sherman for many years. She was also a member of the West Jamestown Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Surviving are four children: Charles (Linda) Carlson of Panama, Jessie (George) Boyer of Jamestown, Lynda Jamison of Florida and Betty Carlson of Warren, Pa.; as well as a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings, Martin Kramer of California, Grace ((Dean) Scheppel of Arizona and Steven (Dawn) Kramarich of Jamestown. A private family service will be held. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to either the Ashville of Sherman Fire Departments.
