Obituary of Tomasina J. George

Tomasina J. "Massey" George, 88, of 270 Sampson St. Jamestown, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2016, in her home surrounded by her family. A lifelong area resident, she was born October 12, 1927 in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria Fiorella Samaritano. She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who loved to spend time in her garden and was also an accomplished wood carver. She also loved to paint and was a member of the Chautauqua County China Painters. Surviving are three daughters, Marie (Jerry) Alonge of Meadville, PA, Diane George, with whom she made her home, Laurie Ann (Bruce) Wallgren of Virginia Beach, VA, two sons, John George of Pittsburgh, PA, Joseph George of Frewsburg, NY, her grandchildren, Michelle Prosser, Vallerie Travis, Cynthia Alonge-Roe, Joseph George, James George, Kassidy Wallgren, Kelsey Wallgren, Kolby Wallgren, nine great grandchildren, a niece Mary Jo Samaritano and a nephew Joe Samaritano. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Louis Samaritano and an infant brother Louis Samaritano. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016, in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor will be celebrant. Inurnment will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to the St. Susan's Center, 31 Water St. Jamestown, NY 14701.
