Obituary of LeeRoy A. Grover

LeeRoy A. Grover, 76, of 285 Spring St., Randolph, passed away Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was born in Jamestown Feb. 16, 1940, grew up in Randolph and was a graduate of Randolph Central School. LeeRoy was employed by Chautauqua Hardware for 36 years, retiring as a supervisor in cost estimating. He also served as town justice in the Town of Kiantone for many years. He had been a member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club, the Carroll Masonic Lodge, the Southern Tier Classic Chevy Club and the Town of Carroll Jaycees. LeeRoy was very proud of his family. He would always light up and shine whenever he was around any of his children or grandchildren. He always had a smile on his face. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. LeeRoy was known for his story and joke telling and many funny pranks. He loved to bowl and was on the Frewsburg bowling league for many years. He took great pride in his '56 Chevy and enjoyed taking it to car shows. He also enjoyed playing cards and chess, which he did regularly. LeeRoy is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Brace Grover; four children: Sherry Rustman of Laguna Hills, CA, Jody Ingersoll of Busti, Rodney Grover of West Valley, and Bradley Grover of Bemus Point; two step-children: Ej Brace of St. Louis, MO, and Lisa White of Chapel Hill, NC; ten grandchildren: Sierra, Cayden, Michael, Nicole, Christian, Haven, Sylvia, Finley, Taj and Jax; and five step-grandchildren: Avery, Alexis, Madeline, Shady and Brace. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton and Doris Michielsen Grover; his aunt and uncle, Genevieve and Carl Grover, who raised him; a brother, Ed Grover; and a sister, Margaret "Susie" Grover. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22nd in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Gordon L. Robbins will officiate. Burial will be in the Steamburg Cemetery. Family and friends will be received from 12 noon to 2 p.m., for two hours prior to the service in the funeral home Thursday. There will be a celebration of life gathering at the East Randolph United Methodist Church at 5 p.m.
