Obituary of Karen S. Turcotte

Karen S. Turcotte, 76, of Clarksville, IN, formerly of Lakewood, NY, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016 in Indiana. She was born May 7, 1940 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Alec and Lucille Spetz. Karen was a graduate of Grove City College. She had been employed by Chautauqua Institution, working in the administrative offices for many years. Karen was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Jamestown, where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed tennis, swimming, sewing and knitting. Surviving are two daughters: Joyce (Thaddeus) McFadden of East Hampton, NY and Nancy Turcotte of New Albany, IN; a granddaughter, Olivia McFadden of East Hampton; and a brother, Dennis (Christel) Spetz of Louisville, KY. Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Norman R. "Pete" Turcotte, Jr., whom she married in 1962 and who died in an automobile accident August 23, 1973. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24th in Bellinger Chapel of First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Donald E. Ray will officiate. A private burial will take place in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home.
