Obituary of Clare W. Erickson

Clare W. Erickson, 82, of 101 Liberty Street, died Saturday September 17, 2016, in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing. A Jamestown native, he was born February 28, 1934, a son of the late Henry and A. Irene Halline Erickson. He attended Jamestown Public Schools. He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving from 1952-57 and in the US Air Force Reserves from 1957-60. Prior to his retirement he was employed at Blackstone Corporation as a welder for 35 years. He was a former member of First Lutheran Church and Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. Surviving are two daughters Theresa (Rob) Meger and Anita (Brent) Brown, both of Jamestown; daughter-in-law Cindy Erickson of Cuyahoga Falls, OH and four grandsons David and Chris Meger and Jake and Josh Brown. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ann Hochreiter Erickson, whom he married January 27, 1955 and who died February 21, 2014; a son Thom Erickson; two sisters Dorothy Benson and Emogene Capizzi and a brother Lawrence Erickson. A memorial service will be held at noon Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Adam Rohler will officiate. Inurnment will be in Soldier's Circle of Lakeview Cemetery. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday.
