Obituary of Allison S. Frye, Jr.

Allison S. "Al" Frye, Jr., 58, of 842 Prendergast Ave., passed away Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016 in WCA Hospital. He was born Aug. 7, 1958 in Jamestown, NY, a son of the late Allison E. "Bud" Frye and DeLores Johnson Frye. Al served as a supply sergeant in the US Army Reserves. He was employed for 27 years by Weber Knapp, retiring due to illness. He was also a huge fan of the Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees. Al's final gift was made by way of his donations to Upstate New York Transplant Services. He is survived by two brothers: Dale (Joyce) Frye, with whom he made his home, and Lee (Laura) Frye of Lakewood; four sisters: Judy Kidd and Pearl Donaldson, both of Trenton, MO, and June (Tim) Hoyt and Linda Newark, both of Jamestown; as well as many nieces, nephews and great- nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Hope Furlow will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m., for two hours prior to the service in the funeral home Wednesday.
