Obituary of Joseph P. Kahm

Joseph P. Kahm, 60, of Rt. 430, Bemus Point, NY, passed away unexpectedly at 11:33 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2016, in his home. He was born July 7, 1956 in Batavia, NY, the son of Earl G. "Bud" and Genevieve E. Mierzwa Kahm. Joe was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp serving from January 9, 1974 to July 8, 1977. While living in Florida for several years, he was a graduate of the Florida State Fire College and had been employed by the Sun State Fire Extinguisher Company in Lake Wakes, FL. He was a member of the War Vets Recreation Club and enjoyed playing golf at the Bemus Point Golf Course. Surviving are three children, Kelli E. Kahm, Joseph P. Kahm, II, both of St. Augustine, FL, Christine Marie of Los Angeles, CA, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl G. "Bud" Kahm, who died July 25, 1983, his mother, Genevieve E. Mierzwa Kahm, who died this past Sunday, September 25, 2016 and his two brothers, David L. Kahm, who died August 9. 2011 and Mark S. Kahm, who died March 21, 2012. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 1, 2016, in St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bemus Point. The Rev. Todd Remick, pastor will be celebrant. Burial will be in the Bemus Point Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. today, Friday, September 30, 2016, in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led by Rev. Remick at 6:45 p.m. today.
