Obituary of Ronald G. Danielson

Ronald G. Danielson, 87, of 4908 LaCresta Drive, Ashville, died Saturday October 1, 2016, in his home. An area resident all of his life, he was born March 30, 1929, in Jamestown, a son of the late Gilbert and Ellen Lundgren Danielson. He was a 1947 graduate of Jamestown High School. Prior to his retirement in 1993, he was employed by Hopes Windows for 45 years in the engineering department, with the last 25 years of his career as chief engineer. He was a member of Benevolent Protected Order of Elks Lodge #263, Lakewood Rod and Gun Club and the Vikings. He enjoyed golf, bowling, winters in Florida, playing baseball and cheering on the New York Mets, but more than anything he loved time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are his wife Marcella Carpenter Danielson, whom he married April 28, 1951; three children Thomas (Becky) Danielson of Lakewood, NY, Debra (Michael) Goulding of Jacksonville, FL and Cynthia (Jack) Burns of Falconer; eight grandchildren Natalie Burns of Gainesville, FL, Jeanine (Mike) Dearman and Lynn Ling of Lakewood, Katie, Kelly and Kristopher Danielson of Syracuse, Adam and Nicole Goulding of Mesquite, TX and five great grandchildren Payge, Zoey, Hannah, Aiden and Jaelynn. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by an aunt and uncle Isabelle and Creonelle Carlson who helped raise him and two sons James and Gary Danielson. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Dayle F. Keefer will officiate. Inurnment will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
