Obituary of Geraldine J. Goldstein

Geraldine J. Goldstein, 81, of Jamestown, NY, passed away at 10:20 a.m. Sunday, October 2, 2016, in the Warren Manor, Warren, PA. A lifelong area resident, she was born November 28, 1934 in Jamestown, NY, the only child of the late Helge O. "Inky" and Mildred E. Larson Johnson. She was a 1952 graduate of Jamestown High School and was active in the planning of her class reunions over the years. During her working years, she was an executive secretary for several former businesses including, Jamestown Veneer and Plywood, Jamestown Telephone Company, James Broadcasting Company and the Richard C. Smith Insurance Agency. She was also associated with her husband in the former Colonial Whip Restaurant and Tastee Corners. She was confirmed at the First Lutheran Church and was a member of the Diana Lodge of the Independent Order of the Vikings. She also volunteered at the Lutheran Home and was a volunteer helping with challenged children and also the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame. She loved playing the piano and played the church organ at one time. She will be remembered as a wonderful homemaker and mother to her family. Surviving are two sons, Todd (Tracey) Goldstein of Bemus Point, NY, Jeffrey Goldstein, with whom she made her home, a daughter, Julie (Todd) Weiland of Mauldin, SC, four grandchildren, Emily and Alex Weiland of Mauldin, SC, Abby and Zachery Goldstein of Bemus Point, NY. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan David Goldstein whom she married April 22, 1957 and who died December 2, 2010 and a son, Scott M. Goldstein who died March 25, 2015. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel K. Nagle, pastor of the First Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Thursday in the funeral home.
