Obituary of Frances J. TeCulver

Frances J. TeCulver, 94, formerly of 3098 Busti-Stillwater Rd. Jamestown, was reunited with her husband Howard in heaven after passing away at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2016 in Memory Garden. She was born March 23, 1922 in Sherman, the daughter of the late William and Katherine Doncavage Newhouse. Frances was a 1938 graduate of Sherman High School and attended Erie Business College. Before moving to Jamestown she had worked at General Electric in Erie, PA. She was a member of Stillwater United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and enjoyed singing in the choir. She volunteered at the Fenton Historical Museum, doing genealogy research for many people. She enjoyed painting landscape scenes, tole painting, and refinishing old trunks. She also taught art in her home. After her husband Howard retired, they traveled throughout the U.S., Europe, and the Holy Land. Frances is survived by her two sons, Dennis K. (Bebe) TeCulver Sr. of Jamestown and Dana A. (Tymma) TeCulver and his stepson David Gwin of Fort Worth, TX, two grandchildren Dennis K. TeCulver Jr. and Matthew A. (Sierra) TeCulver, both of Erie, PA, and a great-granddaughter named after her, Piper Frances TeCulver. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Howard G. TeCulver, whom she married Oct. 8, 1942 and who died April 4, 2008, and two brothers Eugene and Julian Newhouse. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 10, 2016 in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald E. Ray will officiate. Burial will be in Holland Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Monday in the funeral home.
