Obituary of Thomas K. Kennington

Thomas K. Kennington, 75, of Lakewood, passed away Sunday October 16, 2016 in WCA Hospital. He was born December 3, 1940 in Port Washington, NY the son of the late Thomas C. and Irene Hope Kennington. Tom was a US Air Force veteran, serving from 1960 until his retirement as Major in 1981. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal; Air Force Commendation Medal with Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon; Army Good Conduct Medal; Air Force Longevity Service Award; National Defense Service Medal; Air Force Outstanding Unit Award; and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal. Tom graduated from Oklahoma University, earning a Master's Degree. Prior to retirement, he was a Financial Consultant with Merrill Lynch in Las Vegas, NV. Surviving are four children: Brooke Kelly, Parrish Kennington, Paige Lind, Tom Kennington; and eight grandchildren. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his memory may be made to the Chautauqua Lake Community Sailing Foundation, PO Box 291, Lakewood, NY 14750.
