Obituary of Nancy L. Mattsson
Nancy L. Mattsson, 75, of Tanglewood Manor, formerly of Stubb Road, died Thursday October 27, 2016, surrounded by her family.
An area resident all of her life, she was born November 21, 1940, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late E. Birger and Marian Ahlgren Halvarson.
She was a 1958 graduate of Jamestown High School.
She owned and operated a ceramic studio, worked at the Post Journal, and also for Jamestown Public Schools.
She was a member of the Salvation Army and the American Scandinavian Heritage Foundation.
She enjoyed gardening, nature, singing, art, and all things Swedish. Above all else, she treasured her family and her faith in God.
Surviving are her husband Bert Mattsson of West Ellicott, whom she married August 23, 1986; three daughters Kris (Rick) Sadok of Bartlesville, OK, Lynn (Waide) Royal of Lincoln, AR and Wendy Newton of Jamestown; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a brother Leslie Halvarson of Yahk, British Columbia.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson Robert Neal Johnson.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Salvation Army.
Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the church Sunday.
