Obituary of Allene J. Nalbone

Allene J. Nalbone, 89, of Heathwood Assisted Living, Penfield, NY, formerly of 114 Springdale Ave., Jamestown NY, passed away Saturday October 29, 2016 in Highland Hospital Rochester, NY. She was born June 10, 1927 in Corry, PA, the daughter of the late Carl and Mildred Gardner Jacobson. Allene was a 1944 graduate of Frewsburg High School. She was a Red Cross blood donor for many years; volunteered with the American Cancer Society; was a past member of the YWCA Board; and a member of Lakewood Rod and Gun Club Auxiliary, and Viking Lodge #65. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, traveling,Yankee Baseball and spending time with family and friends. She spent her last 10 years in Rochester, NY attending her great-grandsons sporting events and cheering from the sidelines. Surviving are a daughter, Sandra (Craig) Olson of Rochester,NY; two sons: Carl (Robin) Nalbone of Long Beach, CA, and Steven (Sherry) Nalbone of Franklin Lakes, NJ; two grandchildren: Jennifer (Jamie) Pucci of Fairport, NY, and Steven (Brooke) Olson of Smyrna, GA; two great-grandsons:Tyler and Sam Pucci of Fairport, NY; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Rosie and Bennie Cardinale; and several loving nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her dear husband of over 70 years, Sam J. Nalbone whom she married October 20, 1945 and who died February 17, 2016; and a sister, Marian G. Slagle. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday November 4, 2016 in the Lind Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday November 5, 2016 in the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
