Obituary of Sonya E. Rosdahl

Sonya Evanczik Rosdahl, 75, of the Frewsburg Rest Home, formerly of Forest Avenue, Jamestown, died Wednesday November 2, 2016, in Absolut of Westfield. An area resident all of her life, she was born September 5, 1941, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Steven and Pearl Kent Evanczik. She was a 1959 graduate of Jamestown High School and in 2004 graduated from Jamestown Community College with honors. She was a member of Tree of Life Immanuel Lutheran Church and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Prior to her retirement in 2006, she was employed since 1984 by Blackstone/Valeo as an executive administrative assistant. She earlier had worked at the law office of Russell R. Rogerson from 1962-84. Surviving are two daughters Susan (Darrel) Christian and Sandra Moss, both of Jamestown; six grandchildren Andrew Christian, Brittany (Thomas) Kilbury and Julian, Sydney, Alexandria and Lily Moss; two great grandchildren Connor and Harper Kilbury; a brother David (Gayle) Evanczik and a sister-in-law Sheila Evanczik. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lester Rosdahl December 22, 1990 and a brother Steven Evanczik. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor Tara Lamont Eastman will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
