Obituary of Kay S. Edborg
Kay S. Edborg, 79, of Jamestown, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2016, in the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, NY, following a very brief illness.
A lifelong area resident, she was born January 1, 1937 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Merle and Adele Newton Scriven.
Kay was a 1954 graduate of Mayville Central School and a graduate of the Millard Fillmore School of Nursing, Buffalo, NY.
In earlier years she had worked as a surgical nurse at W.C.A. Hospital and was later associated with her husband in the operation of the former Edborg's TV and Appliance, Inc. In later years she worked for Benson's Ladies Apparel in Jamestown.
She was an active member of the First Lutheran Church where she served on the Altar Guild and many other boards and circles of the church. In previous years she was very active in community affairs belonging to clubs and organizations including the Moon Brook Country Club, former Jamestown Jaycee's, the Norden Women's Club, the Viking Lodge, the Cotillion Dance Group and also taught dance lessons while in Mayville.
She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and "Mor Mor". The most important thing in her life was her family, especially her grandchildren. She traveled near and far to attend her grandchildren's many activities. She loved skiing and traveling with her husband, visiting family and friends. She was always there for everyone during their difficult times and was a true blessing to all that knew her.
Surviving are her husband, Roger W. Edborg whom she married June 22, 1957, her five children, David (Lisa) Edborg of Rochester, NY, Tim (Lianne) Edborg of Jamestown, Todd (Katie) Edborg of Fuquay Varina, NC, Scott Edborg of Saco, ME, Amy (Dan) Morando of Los Angeles, CA., ten grandchildren, Andrew, Taylor, Cal, Brielle, Christian, Maxx, Noah, Sammy, William and Bella and four step-grandchildren, Alyson, Sydney, Grayson and Libby.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter-in- law, Heather Lefford Edborg, her special aunt, Dorothy Nee and cousin Craig Nee.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the First Lutheran Church. The Rev. Daniel Nagle, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 1-4 & 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home.
